Body at pier: Suicide or murder?
LOS Angeles — Owen Taylor, chauffeur of a well-known family in Los Angeles, was found dead two nights ago in a Buick at the Lido Island Pier. Police are investigating, but whether the incident was a murder or suicide remains uncertain.
The car was discovered in the water by several fishermen in the morning. They hoisted the car out and found the dead man inside. A postmortem examination was carried out, revealing that the body was hit on the side of the head and found in a straight position as if he were still driving.
The D.A.’s chief investigator, Bernie Ohls, declined to comment. However, witness James Davis was willing to share his opinion on the accident: “None of my business, but you ask me, I say suicide.” Another witness, Robert McDonald, said: “Ask me and I’ll call it murder.”
