Good habits key to managing busy school life

As a high schooler, I love sports, and I enjoy running around and exercising. Also, like many students, I feel secondary school is a big challenge. There are many important projects, events and exams that will have an impact on our future. However, this is also a key time for us to grow and develop, and to learn how to incorporate healthy habits into our routines. Participating in sports is a great way to achieve this! Yet, students can sometimes find it hard to manage both sports and academics.

In today’s world, academics are important in paving the path for a successful future, which is why some students forfeit the sports they like and focus solely on schoolwork.

I believe, though, that students should have the opportunity to participate in sports events and find ways to balance this with maintaining their academics. To achieve this balance between sports and academics, time management and support from others is vital.

Time management

You should be responsible for your own time management. It’s a good idea to get a diary to organize your time. For example, suppose you have an essay assigned on Monday and it is due on Friday. However, at the same time you have sports on Tuesday and Thursday. If I were you, I would use any free time on Monday to make an essay plan, and try to complete half of the essay. Then, on Tuesday after training, I would complete all of my homework as fast as I could, and get some rest. As Wednesday is a free day, I would focus my time to complete my homework and finish my essay. So on Thursday, I would not have to struggle to finish the essay, along with homework. As you can see, it is very useful to make a weekly plan, and this will help you manage your time efficiently.

Here are some other tips to help you to spend your time productively: Pay close attention during class (this will help ensure you understand the material so you don’t have to spend as much time studying it on your own) and use all your down time (such as during the ride to school, home, or your activities) to review and study your schoolwork.

Support from others

It is important that you have your parents and friends around to support you. For example, if you have to leave class early, you can borrow the notes from the class time that you missed from a friend, to make sure you are informed.

Support from parents is also very important. As teenagers, we need a lot of help and encouragement to both participate in sports and to do well academically. With good motivation and parental support, we will keep focused, and we will be more confident to participate in sports.

In conclusion, I hope that everyone can participate in the events they are interested in and have success in their academics. Best wishes in managing your time in a way that is effective for you!
