Happy Chinese Year of the Rabbit
RED was truly the color of Dulwich College Kindergarten and Infants School on February 14 as all the children and staff were dressed in red to raise money for their charity, Heart to Heart. The total donations of 11,252.8 yuan (US$1,710) will be put toward a heart operation for a Chinese child.
Students, teachers, parents and guests gathered at Western International School of Shanghai to celebrate the Chinese New Year with a spectacular show of music, dance and joy full of the spirit of Chinese culture.
Shanghai Rego International School celebrated the arrival of the Year of the Rabbit with a wonderful Chinese New Year party at the Primary campus on January 22. Around 100 students from foundation to Year 12 were involved inthe show.

Magnificent concert
More than 300 young musicians from China, Japan and Abu Dhabi joined forces to present a magnificent concert at the Shanghai Oriental Art Center last Saturday. As part of the annual International School Choral Music Society Festival, these talented young musicians presented a program including Prokofiev's "Peter and the Wolf" and Walton's "Belshazzar's Feast" and finished off the night with Elgar's "Pomp and Circumstance March." It was hosted by Dulwich College Shanghai.
Student wins award
Yew Chung International School of Shanghai student Siu Wing Yee won the People's Choice Award at the Arts and Charity Extravaganza hosted by Community Center Shanghai in January.
Migrant gift donations
The elementary school of Shanghai American School's Puxi campus collected more than 250 presents during their annual holiday gift drive in December. The gifts were then donated to Jin Niu Kindergarten, a migrant school located near SAS in January.
Clay collaboration
January 10 saw the arrival of 18 Year 10 IGCSE Art and Design students from British International School Shanghai's Puxi campus, all eager to take part in a clay workshop with BISS Nanxiang Year 10s.
Heading for Hawaii
The concert band at Shanghai Community International School's Hongqiao campus is gearing up for a trip to Hawaii to compete in the East Hawaii Band Festival. The 31-student ensemble has been hard at work.
Brainstorming buccaneer
Concordia International School Shanghai's Middle School puts on productions of two highly entertaining one-act plays, "Brainstorming" and "20 Reasons Not To Be In A Play." Zachary Shaqqo (above) plays as a pirate facing the treachery of ninjas in "Brainstorming."
Interdisciplinary work
Shanghai Singapore International School's Middle School students will be heading off to different locations to take part in interdisciplinary work as part of their IB Middle Years Program. Each year level will be travelling to different locations with a theme that relates to their interdisciplinary work.
Bonnie Burns Night
Shanghai Rego International School hosted the second annual Burns Night celebration in January. Adults enjoyed a fantastic three-course Scottish meal which was accompanied by a number of entertaining after-dinner speakers.

Twenty Shanghai United International School students joined "The Greatest Love Under the Sky" charity concert in January. They sang the theme song "The Greatest Love Under the Sky" alongside professional choirs.
