Junior artists show what’s iDEAL about city

Shanghai Daily received more than 60 works of art submitted for the iDEALShanghai International Children’s Painting Competition in August and September. These works are from students aged from 7 to 15 from a range of elite international schools in Shanghai. Now, with 20 winners named and the contest wrapped up, the painters’ love of the city, creatively depicted with their brushes, lives on.

Under the theme “iDEAL City iDEAL Life,” the competition again shined the spotlight on many talented young artists and brought them together to meet each other on October 13, iDEALShanghai Readers’ Day.

“The competition was a great source of motivation for the students at SCIS. This was a great opportunity for them to illustrate what they like about Shanghai, and will inevitably remember about their time in China,” said Bettina Salas, art teacher at Shanghai Community International School.

Today we feature works of the Junior School Group. The Senior School Group will appear in December’s Education Express.
