Learning the art of becoming a young artist

MY name is Kloe Chan and I’m from Hong Kong — but Shanghai is where I call home.

In my 17 years, art has always been a passion. As a young child, art was merely for aesthetic purposes, but I’ve realized that art can be so much more than just eye candy. Art can provoke anxiety and disturbance, and at the same time bring peace to a troubled soul.

Creating art was my escape from reality, but now it is my way of conveying emotions and thoughts that words would not suffice.

Through art, I hope to preserve memories, and speak out about societal problems. As young artist, I’m on my path to discovering my voice and am constantly seeking ways to improve my artistic abilities.
