On the runway
FOR those who think leading fashion comes only from Paris or Italy, make way for what's next right here in Shanghai. YCIS Shanghai Year 10 students from the school's Gubei Campus all worked hard to produce outstanding outfits for the 2012 IGCSE Fashion Show.
Taking wearable works of art based on the characteristics of an artist's style as its theme, the show was held in part as a fundraising effort for the Starfish Trust Foundation. This NGO supports Chinese children with different needs, including raising funds for surgery for children in orphanages.
The event raised over 3,400 yuan (US$546), enough to cover the cost of a cleft lip/palate operation.
Styles and trends come and go, but charity is always fashionable.
