Passion for music leads to togetherness in hip rock band
AS a musically driven person, being a founding member of my school’s rock band has been an incredibly memorable experience. Initially I planned to play keyboards for the band, but then decided to take the initiative to teach myself the bass guitar, which has been excellent as I’ve developed new music skills. With practice and the motivation to be good, our group has done some great things.
Rock bands, unlike orchestras, do not have a conductor and are purely driven by the members themselves. It’s a challenge, but also an important test of organization and responsibility. This allowed us to work closely together and to form tight bonds. Teamwork and communication skills were especially crucial when faced with obstacles, such as differences when we were trying to pick our playlist. However, working to overcome these obstacles only brought us closer as a band, and it’s this social harmony, along with the coordination we achieve when we play together, that makes playing in a band such an enjoyable and electrifying thing to do.
Working toward a common goal with people who are passionate and motivated to play music has taught me that diligence goes a long way.
It’s a journey I will never forget. Rock on!
