Student's Chinese is 'Top in the World'

CO-PRINCIPALS at YCIS Shanghai's Century Park campus are very proud to announce that for the third successive year, a YCIS Shanghai student has achieved the highest mark in the World for Cambridge IGCSE Foreign Language Mandarin Chinese. In 2010, student Erica Zhang received this award, and in 2011, Ha Yeon Park also received this award.

This year, Andrew Cheong was the third consecutive recipient of the prestigious "Top in the World" award for IGCSE Foreign Language Mandarin Chinese. Cheong speaks English as his first language, and joined the school just two years ago.

Cheong is a committed and dedicated student who demonstrates a great interest in learning Chinese, and in studying Chinese culture.

When asked about Cheong's success, Co-Principal Mary Yu said: "We are very proud of Andrew for his achievement, and of our Chinese department for their efforts that consistently earn outstanding results."
