Surfing in California

THIS summer I took a trip to California. My grandma and grandpa live there so we got to stay at their house which is good because it is close to the beach.
I have a summer birthday so I asked for surf and bodyboarding lessons, and was lucky to get them for my present.
I was surprised at how big the surf board was and how strong the waves were. A wave can take you down even in water that's only up to your belly!
I loved surfing and even saw a pod of dolphins nearby during one of my lessons.
It was my favorite part of summer and I want to board and surf again next summer.
