Surviving in a jungle

I grabbed my pink backpack and ran straight out the black hard wooden door.

"Malu!" I screamed for my little sister with as much power and strength as possible, "We're gonna be late for our first day in school!"

"We're gonna be late because of you," she came back at me like a bomb. "You take so long to get ready, just because it's a new school."

She had an evil, giggling smile on her face. She grabbed her backpack that looked just like mine. Both of us rushed down to the clubhouse where the bus was parked in front of the beautiful glass door.

I felt a strange urge to run back home as fast as I could. When we got to the bus, I felt like I had teleported from a normal and calm place to a jungle full of animals. I walked past the Lower School, they seemed like fawns calmly sitting and playing together.

"Little girl, please sit down here." The bus monitor ordered as my sister walked next to an empty seat in the Lower School area.

As I went deeper into the jungle I passed the monkeys of Middle School. They were jumping around, making lots of loud buzzing sounds that would invade your ears. I sat down with the monkeys. I slowly looked at the most dangerous part of the jungle, trying not to be noticed by the lions. They thought they were the kings of the jungle, the cleverest and most powerful of them all, but there was one animal that was superior to all the lions together - the grey old elephant. With its great intelligence it could control the other animals, even though the lions assumed they were at the top.

As the bus started moving, I put on my white headphones and turned up the music, I tried to ignore the racket on the bus, but it was almost impossible. When we finally got to school I felt my stomach get smaller and smaller. I felt a shiver, like the ones you get when you are on a roller coaster. I took a moment to breathe, raised my head high and walked to a new beginning.
