Young pupils tackle local, national and world problems

HAVE you ever wondered what local and international students living locally thought about the problems in the world around them?

On May 15 and 16, the Hongqiao campus of Shanghai United International School will host its annual Grade 5 student exhibition.

Each year students must engage in a unit of inquiry of their own design to show they have mastered the skills of the IB Primary Years Program. This year the theme is creativity and ingenuity.

SUIS students will put their minds to the test to solving local, national, and international problems through the lens of the PYP’s inquiry process.

All are invited to discover what students in Shanghai’s oldest and most established “East meets West” school think about the issues in their world, and how they think they can address them.

Not only will the event offer insights into how SUIS offers international education to local and global families, but also how they share the local community with their families. Children will share their answers and projects primarily in English, but also in Chinese and a myriad of other languages with their parents.

A unique experience awaits participants and those interested in life-long learning.
