Adding a touch of glamour

WHEN the Chinese Grand Prix comes to Shanghai, it's more than just fast cars racing around a track. It's an event. It adds adventure and excitement and brings some glamour and hipness to the city.

The international sport is often associated with a shimmering nightlife - posh clubs, champagne flowing, sexy beats playing, and beautiful men and women dancing in the latest fashions.

This makes the sport and Shanghai, known as the city that never sleeps, a great match. The grand prix's closing party is one of the event's highlights.

The party will be held at M1NT for the second straight year. It will feature burlesque performances, themed "Maison Burlesque," by world famous artist Scarlett James from Montreal.

F1 closing parties, held at top venues around the world, are often frequented by celebrities, including all the race teams and drivers, and top local socialites.

For race fans, keep in mind the F1 experience is not limited to the track. Many bars and clubs will show the race on large flat-screen TVs or on giant projector screens, allowing fans to cheer on their favorite drivers with a big crowd.

Sasha's on Dongping Road has some special F1 packages, including a shuttle to and from Shanghai International Circuit combined with a meal and drinks.

Sports bar Ducati Caffe at 1933 Shanghai on Liyang Road is another venue that will televise the race.
