SHANGHAI Spring Tour has signed an agreement with SAIC Maxus to jointly develop recreational vehicle (RV) itineraries and camping sites.
SAIC Maxus will set up a RV experience center at the Shanghai Spring Tour building in Changning District. Shanghai Spring Tour has about 30,000 car club members, while SAIC Maxus has signed 125 RV camping sites nationwide.
China will build about 2,000 vehicle camping sites by 2020, and an explosive growth of the emerging RV tourism industry is expected.
Families with children, outdoor campers and shutterbugs are the main travelers of RV tours, the travel agency said.
