Brave boy is apple of the public’s eye

A four-year-old boy, Xiao Feng, whose legs have been amputated dances to popular song “Little Apple” — Xiaopingguo in Chinese — on his hospital bed, as nurses look on and applaud. The boy’s rendition of the song has gone viral and moved many viewers. Xiao Feng, from the village of Enshi in central China’s Hubei Province, underwent amputations at the age of two following an accident. In the past two years, the child has undergone more than 10 further operations, leaving his family with debts of more than 100,000 yuan (US$16,000). A single by the Chopstick Brothers, “Little Apple” has become hugely popular in China since its release last year. ...
