Man Regrets Not Helping Old Man After He Died
A man regretted not helping an old man who fell on the road in Yibin City in southwest China’s Sichuan Province on November 19 after learning from the social media that the man had died.
The man surnamed Jiang saw an elderly man collapse suddenly on a footpath around 5:47pm on his way to Changjiang Park.
He thought the old man was drunk and would get up by himself. He thought for a moment if he should call for help but carried on walking when he saw the old man sit up again. He took pictures before leaving.
At around 9pm Jiang learned on the social media that the old man had died. He regretted not calling for help.
According to the local police, the man died from heart attack. He was a habitual drinker.
Some web users said they understood Jiang’s situation. If he had helped, they would be worried about getting into some sort of trouble. If they don’t they suffer from guilt.
