700 Bulbs On 4km Roads Turn Night Into Noon
In a village in northwestern China, you might feel dazzled even at night, as a total of 700 lamps kindle the village's 4-kilometer-long roads.
The road is in the Jiangren Village in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province, reported China Business View, a local newspaper.
These lamps share a span of less than 10m between each other. The nearest ones are located at a mere distance of 5m, far below the common standard of 20m.
The village head surnamed Zheng told the reporter that they built the lamps to make it more convenient for villagers to walk there at night.
The decision was made by the representatives of villagers after a consensus was reached, and each household contributed 2,000 yuan in the project.
The reporter found that when night fell, every other lamp would be turned on, rather than all of them.
