Bling Bling! Golden Trees In Zhengzhou Triggers Complaints
Five "golden" trees appeared on the streets of Zhengzhou City in central China's Henan Province recently. Passers-by complained those trees to be a little dazzling in the sun, Dahe Daily reported on May 5.
The two-storey high trees came up at the intersection of Huashan Road and Zhongyuan Road.
A sanitary worker said the trees were planted in the square in front of a building in mid-April.
Made up of steel and plastic, these "golden" trees are visibly very costly.
However, some residents complained that the bling bling trees are too dazzling in the strong summer daylight.
Someone also questioned whether it's illegal to plant fake trees there.
According to the Zhongyuan District government officials, they have no jurisdiction over the areas as the fake trees are not planted on a public land like the sidewalk.
