Car-sharing user surprised when truck turns up
A man who booked some transport got the surprise of his life when a heavy goods vehicle came to pick him up.
The man, from Wushan, thought a bus or taxi would be his mode of transport when he made his online order to travel to Chongqing at Monday night. And when he was told the vehicle would be very commodious, and that he could also sleep in it, the man thought his carriage must be an Alphard vehicle of some sort. But the man couldn’t believe his eyes when a truck turned up to take him to his choice of destination.
He was a little tentative at first and even struggled to climb onboard. And several minutes into the journey his fears were further heightened because the truck was travelling at a great speed. Despite his anxiety the driver reassured him, and said: “Don't be afraid, young man. I'm a veteran driver."
The passenger shared his unusual experience the following morning on Weibo after he arrived safely at his destination. The man joked that the next time he books some transport online he will ask for the model of what he is getting, just in case he gets a cement tanker. He also remarked that the truck was more comfortable than a bus.
The man revealed he booked his transport through a local car-sharing platform and not the well-known ride-hailing application Didi.
