The Last Selfie Of A 19-Year-Old Woman
A tourist captured the terrifying moment of a 19-year-old woman being hit by a train in Foshan, south China's Guangdong Province.
The woman was taking a selfie.
The 33-acre rose garden in Nanhai District's Liantang village where the incident took place attracted many tourists.
The victim was one of such tourists on this bad day.
At 12:10pm on April 9, when the tragedy took place, the woman stood too close to the tracks as the train sped past, Guangzhou Daily reported.
According to the director of the rose garden surnamed Dai, the woman seemed to be a teacher and she came together with her fellow students.
She wanted the passing train in her photo background and got dangerously closer to the track.
She was so fixated that she ignored warning horns from the driver as well as shouts from people around, Dai said.
After the accident, the train stopped for about half an hour.
A tourist captured the horrifying moments before the woman died.
According to the report, paramedics arrived at the scene but the woman had suffered severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at scene.
It is presumed that the victim wasn't standing on the railway track. However, the air pressure created by the speeding train sucked her underneath the wheels.
Local railway police are currently investigating the incident.
