'Trunk Woman' goes viral
A photo of an old woman sitting in the trunk of a moving car has gone viral. The driver was her son, and his behavior has been widely condemned by netizens.
A web user photoed the incident on Shunfa Road and Tai'an Street in Zhengzhou city, the capital of Henan Province, on Sunday.
Many criticized his actions. Others asked for more details.
The driver surnamed Liu, 50, said he drove his family to a restaurant for his brother's blind date that day.
Liu decided to pick up his mother after sending his father and matchmakers home as the family home was not far from the restaurant.
But his mother insisted sitting in the trunk instead of Liu driving back and forth. Liu said he regrets his decision.
Carrying people in the trunk is illegal. It is unclear if police will act.
