'Blue Skinny Mushroom' Man Gets Married
Last October, a young man from Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, expressed his sadness in a video while his girlfriend was away.
Due to his strong accent, "nanshou (feel sad) xiangku (wanna cry)" sounded like "lanshou xianggu (blue skinny mushroom)." Immediately, this "blue skinny mushroom" became an expression of sadness and the man, Wei Yong, has since become an Internet celebrity in China.
On January 18, Wei Yong got married with his girlfriend and released a wedding picture on Weibo, saying, "Today I'm the most handsome man."
Netizens were surprised to see his beautiful bride and extended their congratulations to him.
The video, which was originally said to be an expression of disappointment in love, was later confirmed as a misunderstanding. The man shot the video when his girlfriend was traveling. He shared the video with his friends just for fun but it was posted online and later went viral on social media.
