Changchun Student Paints Nail & Wool Into Beautiful Art
Beautiful art products out of visibly mundane and useless things are not uncommon. Over the years we’ve seen artists creating images with coffee stains, dog hair, food or amber brew, but have you ever seen paintings made of nails and wool?
A student from Changchun University in China's Jilin Province has created a series of paintings using his otherwise 'unartful' tool box.
With his hammer, nails and several bales of wool, Cai Sunxiang has conjured up creative images like "Maze" and "Setting Sail."
His art form called "String Art" is about transforming nails and just as much long threads into exclusive masterpieces.
Cai describes that his current uses 200-300 nails in each art piece and they aren't very large ones.
Each artwork takes around three days to complete. Needless to mention the difficulty of creating such a kind of artwork.
Cai began to learn "String Art" around two months ago. However, Cai started to learn painting when he was a high school student. At home, his childhood play went around his carpenter father's working tools.
Cai says:
I read an article about 'String Art' during the winter holiday this year. I thought I can have a try with my painting skills. It's just a hobby right now, but I hope to create more paintings on the wall in future
Take a look at his fabulous work.
