Classmates Become Her Leg And Her Family
To others, Zhen Tingting is a “china doll.”
Zheng, 21, was robbed of the joy of running while still in the cradle, Chongqing Morning Post reported.
Suffering from Congenital osteogenesis, she had fracture for the first time in 1997. Gradually, she found herself unable to walk.
Unwilling to stop for her legs won’t support her walk, Zheng studied hard. Persistence and diligence led her to Chongqing University of Education in 2014. Zheng majored in Translation along with 47 other classmates.
The disability of Zheng caught the university’s attention. Zheng’s mother was hired in the university as cleaner, making easier for her to look after Zheng.
Her fellow classmates were also quite generous in helping her deal with the movement issues. Before university, Zheng was helped by her parents and relatives.
Concerned about her safety, the classmates of Zheng mapped out a schedule as soon as they figured out her need. Under this, they took turns in guarding Zheng.
The schedule detailed of classes and telephone numbers. One or two student took charge to take her to library, dormitory or canteen.
Her female classmates were neither left behind, and even vowed to wear off their heels to offer a firm helping hand when accompanying her go on stairs. Thanks to them, Zheng now feels more than safe and sound.
When Zheng turned into a sophomore, over 20 students in faculty of foreign language volunteered to offer her all possible help.
When admitted to university, Zheng was concerned if she would not get isolated. But the worries faded away. Classmates admired Zheng for her diligence and ever smiling face.
Zheng was moved. She was grateful to each of them. Indeed, all these years, deep in her heart, ran the eagerness to walk on her own. Fortune knocked on Zheng’s door.
Recently Zheng was told that an operation in Shenzhen in the coming summer holiday could make her walk on her own again.
However, the costly treatment fee of up to 160,000 yuan nearly scared Zheng off.
Again Zheng’s classmates volunteered to initiate a donation online and in the school to cover it.
University also called for teachers and alumni both current and earlier to help Zheng.
Donations totaled 40,000 yuan by now.
