Couple Living on Cliff Protects Environment for 20 Years

A couple in southwest China’s Chongqing Municipality has been living on the precipice for more than 20 years.

They are the only residents in the Sky Hole, a well-known tourist attraction in the city’s Fengjie County.
Every day, they climb over 2,000 steps in early morning and collect the trash left by tourists. They also run a hydropower station at the bottom of the Sky Hole.

Both their kitchen and bedroom are built against the rock wall.
