Foreigner's Organ Donation Makes Big Impact In Zhejiang
Organs from a 49-year-old British man, who died four months after suffering a severe stroke, will help six Chinese patients, Qianjiang Evening news reported.
The man, Mark Terence Osbone, who had previously agreed to donate two corneas, one kidney, his heart and liver, died on June 29 in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang Province.
According to the report, Mark is the second foreigner based in Zhejiang to have donated his organs after his death.
Mark came to the city with his Chinese wife, surnamed Wang, six years ago. Since then, he had been teaching English in the city.
However, his life changed drastically after he got sick.
On March 3, Mark was diagnosed with a severe acute stroke and has been in hospital for the past four months.
On June 8, the couple celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary in the hospital. Many relatives and friends came to the party for a final farewell.

Mark had decided to donate his organs after his mother had lived on for more than 10 years after receiving a heart transplant. His wife has also signed an organ donation deal.
