Graffiti Master, 80, Takes You From Childhood To History
You can see graffiti not only in big cities but also in villages like Tianbao Village at Yubei District of southwest China’s Chongqing City.
Wu Xiaokuan, 80, has painted with ink brush over the old yard walls in his village for a dozen years on themes from historical changes to farming to old-style schooling.
Wu lives near a village scenic spot and left open his paintings for the public on March 17. Quite a few tourists marveled at Wu’s graffiti. They said they could trace back their childhood memories and get to know the transformations of modern Chinese history through his graffiti.
Wu's graffiti are also got inspired by stories in his old books collection.
Wu painted a big cat at the front gate of his home when his family members complained of finding quite a few rats at home.
He began to paint on his TV satellite and walls of his son’s house after his own walls have all been covered with his graffiti.
