Handmade Railway Station Model Becomes an Internet Sensation
Jia Tianqi, 19, a mathematics major in Shandong University, spent three months working on this miniature model; he bought all the materials online. He said he’s inspired by a netizen who made a miniature platform of Lianyungang Railway Station in April.
Jia’s model comprises of four platforms measuring 1.8 meters long in a ratio of 1:87 as well as miniature trains, signs and plants.
Jia posted his work on Weibo and soon got 50,000 clicks. He said he wanted to create through his work a platform for people like him to share ideas and experiences.
Jia has visited the Shijiazhuang railway station several times and even bought a ticket heading to the city’s Zhengding Airport to get a whole picture of the station.
