This is an inspirational story of a man who lost his critical body parts but not his courage to live a life of dignity.

Today 58, Yue Jin was a farmer in 1993 at Yongji County of the northeastern Jilin Province when he crashed in a mountain stream while he was uphill chopping woods.

He became unconscious but got discovered a day later. He survived but lost his feet and nine fingers due to severe frostbite. The treatment cost him his house and the life he was leading until then.

His wife had passed away earlier just three days after giving birth to their baby girl. Worried about his survival, he asked his neighbors to take care of his daughter and left.

Yue roamed the streets and even lived on begging for a long time.

In 2003, Yue came back to Jilin and decided to rely on his own efforts to make money. Then he began his tryst with repairing which he has been doing now for 13 years. He spent the only 700 yuan (US$108) he had to buy some repair tools and went on the difficult journey.

You can image how many difficulties he would have faced at first due to his physical disability. The work was something he had never done and he lacked balance as he had all but nine fingers and no legs. His hands got besmeared with blood many a times before he could learn to negotiate with repairing.

After his persistent efforts, he was able to use the tools skillfully.

Today he is the "Brother Strong" to locals who appreciate his spirit and praise him. His daughter is married now but Yue refuses to stay with her and prefers making a living by himself.
