Muscular Construction Worker Becomes Internet Star
A migrant worker from central China’s Hubei Province has become the latest Internet celebrity after his story of training his muscular body by transporting 3,000 to 5,000 bricks every day was made public.
Shi Shenwei, 23, won a million followers after uploading short videos of him bodybuilding. Thanks to that, he has experienced many firsts in the past year – first advertising fee, first air flight and first television appearance.
Shi failed to be enrolled into high school when he was 16 years old. So he followed his uncle to do construction work in provinces of Shandong, Heilongjiang, Jiangxi and Fujian.
He picked up bodybuilding as his hobby, taking scaffold as horizontal bar and parallel bars. He once weighed less than 50kg. Now Shi has kept his body fat percentage under 8, a target hard to achieve even for professional bodybuilding coaches.
