Old Man Becomes an Internet Sensation for His Sweetheart Act

It has been said on many occasions that the art of love and romance is dead. But one old man proved that this is not the case and it is still very much alive on one of the nation’s subways.

The man from Chengdu, capital of southwest China’s Sichuan Province, has become an Internet sensation after he was captured bending down from his seat to repair a buckle on his wife’s sandals.

A subway rider caught the old man’s touching act on the metro and posted it on Weibo. The photo brought about a mini frenzy on social media, which melted the hearts of most who were warmed by the sweet scene.

Some netizens commented that marriage was only the beginning of a relationship but companionship is for an eternity. One netizen said he admired that the old couple still walked hand-in-hand, instead of clinching, as a young couple would do.

There was also the odd humorous comment, which suggested that the old man should buy his wife a new pair of sandals.
