Police Car Lights up Road for Elderly Couple
Chinese netizens have been greatly touched by a photo showing a police car slowly following an elderly couple on tricycle and lighting their way with the car's headlights.
The photo was posted online by a night jogger who saw the heart-warming moment at around 7:30pm on November 16 in Quzhou, Zhejiang Province.
It was later shared by People's Daily on Weibo and won more than 120,000 likes.
According to media reports, two police officers, Zheng Shilong (right in the picture below) and Yang Jun, saw the elderly couple when they were on their way to the police station.
The road was rough and rugged without any street lamps as it was under construction. So the police officers decided to follow the couple and light up their way for their safety.
But after riding about 500 meters, the elderly man was tired and stopped to have a rest. Zheng took the couple into the car and drove them back home while Yang rode the tricycle.
The elderly couple said they would be able to go home by themselves when the car reached an area, which was lit up. The police officer agreed as they were also on duty. But Yang saw the couple was riding in the wrong direction. The officers then decided to drop them to their community where they live.
