Policeman Tries to Salvage Admission Card in Dirty River
A police officer has drawn praise from netizens after going beyond the needs of duty to save a student’s admission card, which had fallen into a river.
The careless student, from Nanjing's Pukou District, accidently dropped his college entrance examination card into a nearby river on the first day of the gaokao on June 7.
A police officer, keeping the order at the scene, witnessed the incident and jumped into the water without hesitation to help salvage the card. He even dived under the water to search for the card. Unfortunately, the policeman failed to find it because the water was too dirty and muddy.
All was not lost, however, because the student still sat the exam that afternoon after getting some certification materials from relevant department.
Chinese netizens applauded the police officer’s actions after seeing the pictures posted on social media.
One netizen said: "Well done. Salute to the police officer!"
