Septuagenarian, Half Naked, Exercises against Winter Chills
A 72-year-old man in Chengdu, capital city of southwest China’s Sichuan Province, did morning exercises in only shorts although the provincial meteorological bureau issued alert for cold current this week.
The man, Zheng Xinglu, who used to be a soldier, has been doing exercises toplessly in the city’s Xinhua Park for 12 years.
Zheng stunned onlookers by doing splits and hundreds of pushups after warming himself up. He also jogged, raced and practiced leaping between steps. He would have a homemade drink of nourishing ingredients during breaks.
“A healthy body depends on many factors such as frequent exercise, a regular life and being an omnivore,” Zheng said. “And a positive attitude is the most important and the purpose of exercise as well.”
