Classroom or Horror Movie Scene? Internet Users Respond to Students’ ‘Bloody’ Handprints
At a primary school in Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu Province, what was meant to be a light-hearted activity welcoming new students gave some Internet users a fright.
September 1 marked the start of a new school year for students across China. To help integrate newly enrolled students at one primary school in Nanjing, administrators came up with the idea of letting children leave their handprints on the school’s walls.
But with every pupil using red ink, some Internet user said the decoration looked like a collection of bloody handprints. Some netizens were turned off by this seemingly ghoulish scene and suggested a change of color.
Here’s a sample of some of the comments:
I may get a heart attack if I see this wall at midnight.
Is this a scene from a horror film? Why not use other colors?
How can they go to school afterwards in this horrible atmosphere?
What a terrifying scene! They could replace them with paintings, signatures or fingerprints.
How about girls in pink, boys in light blue?
