Illegally Raised Crocodile Fell From Rooftop in a Residential Quarter
The 1-meter-long crocodile was one of the two fed in a rooftop pool by a man surnamed She who had asked his friend to buy the two creatures from Chengdu for his birthday. The crocodiles weigh about 5 kilograms each.
The fleeing crocodile was later found in a corner of the garden around 9am. She’s friend rushed to the scene and helped She and the security guards capture it with a woven bag, a wooden stick and some packaging tapes.
No one was injured in the incident, and later that night She, the owner, cooked the two crocodiles.
Authority from Zigong’s forestry bureau said all types of crocodiles are under protection in China. It’s illegal for any individual, organization or company to buy it. The case is now under further investigation.
