Similar Pictures But A World Of Difference In Responses
Two pictures, almost similar, drew a completely contrasting and diverse reaction from netizens on the Chinese social media.
A Thai web user posted this picture (below) on his Facebook page on June 25. The photo showed a group of Japanese children quietly reading books while waiting for their flight at the Chiang Mai airport. No one was on cell phones, or talked loudly or chased each other.
The pictures were appreciated with some comments saying, “this is truly a hopeful nation” and “really admire them.”
However, a very similar picture posted online on July 3 drew just the opposite reaction.
The photo showed a group of students heading to summer camps in Japan from Xi’an, capital of Shaanxi Province, reading books while waiting for the security check at the airport. Even their luggage was arranged in order.
But not all were impressed. Some of the comments claimed, “their teachers arranged the scene,” “only good students are qualified for such camps” and “it’s just a copycat and face job.”
