6 bodies spotted, 3 recovered from missing AirAsia: official
Indonesian rescuers searching for the missing AirAsia plane had spotted six bodies and pulled three from waters off the southern coast of Kalimantan island, Indonesia 's rescue regency said in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Henry Bambang Soelistyo, head of the Search and Rescue Agency, told a press conference on Tuesday afternoon that the waters where the bodies were found was 190 kilometers from Central Kalimantan Province's Pangkalan Bun city.
The rescuers spotted an emergency exit door and other objectives, Soelistyo said, adding that his team had also found a "shadow" on the seabed which is believed to be the fuselage of the missing jet. Soelistyo said the depth of the waters is 25 meters to 30 meters.
He added that divers, wrecking crew and other rescue forces will be deployed to retrieve more bodies.
Indonesia AirAsia's Flight QZ8501 lost contact with air traffic control early on Sunday during bad weather on a flight from the Indonesian city of Surabaya to Singapore.
