Man who climbed US TV tower stays for 6th day
A man who scaled an Oklahoma TV tower in US last week has resisted attempts to coax him down, as the stalemate lasts into a sixth day.
Rescue crews continued to offer the man food and water yesterday, conditional on him agreeing to come down from his perch about 100 feet (30 meters) up the Clear Channel communications tower. The last time he took water was early Friday, and officers say they are concerned.
Dozens of onlookers have flocked to the site, and mental health experts have urged caution and compassion from members of the public, who have taken to the Internet to weigh in on the situation.
Clear Channel says its staff in Tulsa found the man in an unauthorized area Thursday, and he ran from guards and scaled the tower.
