Small Tsunamis Hit Japan

SMALL tsunamis caused by the Indonesian earthquakes hit Japan's southeast coast yesterday morning. There were no reports of damage.

Japan's Meteorological Agency said tsunamis of between 10 centimeters and 40 centimeters in height splashed ashore in towns along the coast.

The Japanese Meteorological Agency earlier issued tsunami warnings for a wide swath of Japan's southeast coast, prompting people to stay away from the ocean.
