Namito’s lips of love are a kiss to the world
NAMITO Kiss Power, a solo exhibition by Zhang Ge, a fashion artist and founder of NAMITO IP, is on view at the Chun Art Museum until October 4.
With “healing aesthetics” at its core, which emphasizes the importance of creating spaces, artworks, or experiences that provide solace, comfort and support for people on their healing journeys, the exhibition takes visitors on a six-episode emotional journey that culminates in a pure white space, a symbol of the spiritual essence of “emptiness.”
Namito, a girl with peach-shaped lips and a red mushroom haircut, wears rabbit ear-like headwear. She appears relaxed with her eyes closed, kissing “goodliness” with pouted lips. Her unusual pouted lips are shaped like two hearts or the letter “X” (signifying love & say no), indicating that she loves the world while rejecting evil.
Zhang uses the concept of minimizing mental stress to build a pure Namito reality. Based on the artistic notion of transmitting positivity, she incorporates positive emotions and pure power into her works to provide the audience with endless internal energy.
