Forced quarantine

A young couple living in Jiading District was forced into quarantine on Thursday after declining to confine themselves at home after they traveled to Wuhan, epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak, the district government said yesterday.
The couple, who live on Cao’an Road, traveled to Wuhan before the Chinese New Year holiday, and then to Henan Province, before returning to Shanghai a few days ago, authorities said.
Despite persuasion from Zhenxin Subdistrict officials, they declined to quarantine themselves at home and often went outside.
Officials and police told the couple on Thursday that they would be forced to go into an quarantine.
