Trash is not just trash

Nowadays, people generate, on average 4.5 pounds of plastic and other trash per day. The world produces 1.2 trillion kilograms of trash every year. That’s around what 182 Great Pyramids of Egypt world weigh. In addition, trash contains many dangerous substances that can cause cancer. It can generate methane which can be burned. Plastic can also kill animals that live in the sea. Therefore, people also have come up with many ideas to help solve the trash problem.

Some people have developed organisms that live on plastic to help break it down. But, most people will put plastic in the landfill or burn it in a big factory. The downside of this is that it will kill so many creatures both on the land and in the water. Even an empty paint can also hurt animals. For example, if a seal was ensnared by a paint can, the seal will be easily seen by its predators just like a plastic bag can be deadly to animals because it will restrict it. Plastic is very dangerous to animals, and if the world keeps using so much plastic, it will create a mess and make the Earth uninhabitable.

I think world leaders can let everyone in the world know more about this problem. Maybe we can put trash into a big building or bury it under ground. We can make plastic into new things.

For example convert bottles into toy rockets. I think we can also use chemistry to convert it into fuel. And we also can use trash to plant trees and flowers. I think we can use bottles to make great toy animals and insects. I think we can put in some additives that wouldn’t kill animals but rather make it break down more easily. Nature can also help us, for example soil can help us to break down the trash.
