Runners in the 20th Shanghai International Marathon set off from the Bund yesterday morning. The event attracted 35,000 competitors who defied the cold and foggy conditions to take on the 42.1 kilometer course. The men’s race was won by Kenya’s Paul Kipchumba Lonyangata with an event record time of 2 hours, 7 minutes and 14 seconds.
