Two Chinese Moms Recreate 'Descendants Of The Sun'
South Korean television dramas have always been popular in China, but the peak of K-drama fever came with military romance "Descendants of the Sun."
Set in the fictional war-torn Republic of Uruk, Song Joong-ki plays a captain in the army alongside Song Hye-kyo, a beautiful volunteer doctor. Their love grows day by day as they battle earthquakes and epidemics, massacres and mayhem together.
Chinese audiences accustomed to watching free TV shows are buying VIP packages on popular video-streaming site iQiyi.com to watch this drama.
Among them are two young mothers from Wenzhou City in east China’s Zhejiang Province. And they are doing something different: Recreating iconic images from the show on their adorable kids.
Check this out!
One of the two mothers, Chen Xiaodan, owns a photo studio and takes photos for customers. It inspired her to enlist her 8-year-old son and 6-year-old niece to re-enact scenes from the show.
She got a willing partner in her sister-in-law, Zhou Lili.
It took them almost one week to prepare for the clothing and accessories.
In order to give the kids more real look like the two characters, they got their children haircut in advance.
Many Chinese netizens shared their playful shots online and said their version of "Descendants of the Sun" is super cute.
